Dawn Ashworth was a girl killed in 1986 by Colin Pitchfork, who killed Lynda Mann three years before. DNA testing indicated the same man killed both girls and identified him as the killer.
Case[]
Pitchfork targeted Dawn while she walked on the footpath. She was raped and strangled, as the previous victim.
He was convicted of both murders in 1987. A man had confessed to the crimes earlier, under the coercion of police and was exonerated after the DNA results.
