Breaking the Mold refers to episode 37 of the Season 7 of the television series Forensic Files which was broadcast for the first time on December 11, 2002.
Plot summary[]
A family in Dripping Springs, Texas seems to be living the perfect life when suddenly their 3-year-old son, Reese Allison, develops a respiratory condition in March 1999. The child’s mother, Melinda Ballard, also has unusual symptoms.
The child’s father, Ron Allison, later is shown to have signs of Alzheimer's disease, and while boarding a plane a month later, meets an investigator who reveals that their ill health is due to a form of black mold in their modern home, which was based on the movie version of "Tara", the home of Scarlett O'Hara in Gone with the Wind.
